Happy New Month, the week of May 1, 2026 brings a proper shake up across the Nigerian Gospel Music Charts, with one song clearly setting the tone.
Sunmisola Agbebi’s “Oranmonise” makes an immediate statement, debuting at No. 1 on both the Top 50 and Worship charts. A double No. 1 debut is not just a strong entry. It is a signal that the record has landed with real force from the start.
Top 50: “Oranmonise” Enters at No. 1
On the Top 50, “Oranmonise” opens at the summit, pushing Chinyere Udoma’s “EBUBE DIKE” to No. 2 and “IHE DI GI MMA” to No. 3.
EmmaOMG’s “Ko’rin Iyin” holds firm at No. 4, while “Amioluwa” climbs back into the top five at No. 5.
The bigger story is the shape of the upper end of the chart. Worship driven and deeply devotional records are still carrying much of the week’s momentum. Even with a new song breaking through, the top five remains heavily rooted in songs built for prayer rooms, church gatherings and personal devotion.
Worship: Sunmisola Leads, Tkeyz Arrives Strong
The Worship chart follows the same headline, with “Oranmonise” debuting at No. 1. “Amioluwa” rises to No. 2, giving the chart a refreshed top end and showing that newer worship records are not just entering the list, they are shaping it.
Tkeyz also makes a strong impact this week, as “Ranmilowo (Help Me)” opens at No. 3. That gives the Worship chart two major new movements inside the top three.
“Oluwatosin” moves down to No. 4, while Dunsin Oyekan’s “Praise the Lord (Live)” sits at No. 5.
Praise: Chinyere Udoma Keeps Control
While Top 50 and Worship are seeing major rotation, the Praise chart remains more settled.
Chinyere Udoma continues to dominate the top two positions, with “EBUBE DIKE” holding No. 1 and “IHE DI GI MMA” staying at No. 2. EmmaOMG’s “Ko’rin Iyin” remains at No. 3, keeping the top three unchanged from last week.
BBO’s “Amin (Amen)” rises to No. 4, while Paul Tomisin’s “Reckless Lover” holds at No. 5.
The contrast is clear. Praise is showing consistency. Worship is showing movement. Top 50 is showing both at once.
Afro Gospel: “No Turning Back II” Still Sets the Pace
On Afro Gospel, “No Turning Back II” remains No. 1 for another week, extending its run as one of the most consistent records in the category.
Moses Bliss has a strong week, climbing with both “Your Love” at No. 2 and “Unending Joy” at No. 3. Limoblaze’s “Tinbake” slips to No. 4 after its recent strong showing.
Called Out Music completes the top five with “Ancient of Days / Open the Eyes of My Heart”.
Biggest Movers on the Top 50
Beyond the top 10, the Top 50 also shows where pressure may be building for the coming week.
“E Ti Tobi to…” by EmmaOMG makes one of the week’s sharpest moves, climbing 14 places. “Give Me Chance” by Bidemi Olaoba and Mercy Chinwo follows closely with a 13 place rise.
“Jesus Iye” by Nathaniel Bassey climbs 11 places, while “Obinigwe” by Minister GUC moves up nine places.
These are the records to watch closely. Big mid chart movement can often become top tier pressure if the growth continues into the next tracking week.
What the Week Is Really Saying
This week’s chart story is not only about a new No. 1. It is about the balance of power across Nigerian gospel music right now.
Fresh worship records are still capable of cutting through quickly, but the established catalogue songs are not losing relevance. “Oranmonise” brings new energy to the top, while songs from Chinyere Udoma, EmmaOMG, Dunsin Oyekan, Moses Bliss and others continue to show staying power.
The result is a chart week shaped by two forces at once: new devotional momentum and proven catalogue strength.
