Privacy Policy
NGMCharts uses personal information to run public fan accounts, chart comments, news comments, account emails, and moderation tools. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- •Account details such as email, username, password credentials, Google sign-in identity, and verification status.
- •Public profile details, including your username and generated avatar initial/colour.
- •Public activity such as comments, replies, likes, dislikes, edit history, and moderation status.
- •Technical data to protect the service: session cookies, CSRF tokens, request metadata, and security logs.
- •Optional analytics data, after you consent, including pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source, and interactions with charts and stories.
How we use your information
- •To create, secure, and manage your public fan account.
- •To show your public username beside comments, replies, and reactions.
- •To keep chart discussions attached to the correct chart and published week.
- •To prevent abuse, spam, impersonation, and repeated automated requests.
- •When you consent, to understand how visitors find and use NGMCharts and improve the public website.
Analytics and cookie choices
Google Analytics is optional. We do not load the Google Analytics tag or create analytics identifiers unless you choose “Accept analytics”. If you reject optional analytics, NativeHome and the rest of the public site continue to work normally.
When enabled, Google Analytics uses a first-party identifier such as the _ga cookie to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google derives approximate location from the connection used to send an analytics event. We use this information to understand readership, traffic sources, and which charts, artists, songs, and stories are useful. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalisation remain disabled.
Cloudflare provides aggregate edge, security, and performance analytics for requests passing through its network. This infrastructure measurement is separate from optional Google Analytics. If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled at the edge, it does not use cookies or local storage and is designed not to collect personal data.
Your choice is stored on your device for up to six months. Use “Cookie settings” in the NativeHome navigation to grant or withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies from this site.
Public comments and usernames
Comments, replies, likes, and dislikes are public. Your email address is not shown publicly. Your public username is shown beside comments and must be unique.
Google sign-in and emails
If you sign in with Google, we use the email returned by Google to find or create your account. Account confirmation and password-reset emails are automated and time-limited; the inbox is not monitored for replies.
Storage and service providers
Public account and comment data is handled through Cloudflare infrastructure, including Workers and D1. We use Google OAuth for sign-in, Google Analytics for optional website measurement, and Resend for account emails.
Account deletion
You can request account deletion from your account page. We remove or anonymise account details used for sign-in. Public comments may remain as from “Deleted User”. Some records may be kept for security, abuse prevention, or legal obligations.
Your choices and rights
You can update your email, username, and password, or delete your account, from your account page. You can also contact us about access, correction, deletion, or restrictions on your personal information.
