Chart Recap: BisiManuel Claims First Number One with “Aanu Ni”

The week of July 24 brought a fresh face to the top of the NGMC Top 50 as BisiManuel‘s “Aanu Ni” climbed from number 2 to claim the number 1 spot. It is the first time the worship leader has held the top position on Nigerian Gospel Music Charts’ flagship chart, and the move signals a growing momentum for a song that has resonated deeply with listeners over the past three weeks.
Top 10 Shake Up
The entire Top 3 shifted this week. BisiManuel rises to number 1 while David Jones David‘s “Eze yoyo” moves up one spot to number 2, also marking a new peak. Last week’s number 1, Mercy Chinwo‘s “Promise Keeper” drops to number 3 in its second week on the chart. “Promise Keeper” entered at number 1 last week, an impressive debut, but this week BisiManuel and David Jones David both overtook the track.
BisiManuel also has “Odaju (Live)” on the chart at number 46, but it dropped 27 spots this week after debuting at number 19 last week.
Adazion IJ holds steady at number 4 with “Ihe Nyiri Mmadu Omume” for a second consecutive week. EmmaOMG climbs three spots to number 5 with “Kor’in Iyin”, a track that has now spent an impressive 29 weeks on the chart.
Biggest Gainer: Gaise Baba
The biggest upward move this week belongs to Gaise Baba, whose “No Turning Back II” jumped from number 31 all the way to number 6, a gain of 25 positions. The track has been on the chart for 28 weeks and has now reached a new peak of number 2. Gaise Baba also sees “Want to Grow” climb from number 32 to number 22 this week.
Highest New Entry: Ebuka Songs
Ebuka Songs debuts at number 8 with “TAKING CHARGE”, the highest new entry of the week. The song also enters the Worship chart at number 3. Tkeyz debuts “Oluwatosin II” at number 50, while his earlier hit “Oluwatosin” jumps from number 29 to number 10, giving him two songs in the Top 10 for the first time.
Notable Re Entries
Several familiar songs returned to the Top 50 this week. Dunsin Oyekan‘s “Nagode” featuring David Dam re enters at number 23. BBO‘s “Amin (Amen)” returns at number 30, and Judikay‘s “Omemma” comes back at number 37. Tim Godfrey‘s “We Raise a Sound” re enters at number 41, and Nathaniel Bassey brings back both “Yahweh Sabaoth” (number 43) and “Jehovah” (number 44). Moses Bliss‘s “Unending Joy” returns at number 47, and BBO’s “Orun Si” rounds out the re entries at number 49.

What to Watch Next Week
Ebuka Songs’ “TAKING CHARGE” debuted strongly at number 8 and could continue climbing if its momentum holds. BisiManuel will look to defend the number 1 spot as David Jones David’s “Eze yoyo” closes the gap at number 2. And with multiple re entries returning to the chart this week, next week could see further reshuffling as these songs regain their footing.
